ESS CDI Ballistic Sunglasses

Redesigned and Better Than Ever

The resilient, battle-hardened ESS CDI Ballistic Sunglasses has a long track record of saving eyes and lives in hostile situations.

Following a series of comprehensive overhauls, the redesigned CDI has never been better.

The ESS CDI's U.S. MIL SPEC* high-impact lenses can be easily exchanged for quick adaptation to your environment.

Its high-speed low-drag frame and shatter-resistant lenses make the CDI comfortable and cool enough for downtime yet functional and rugged enough for the battlefield.

The CDI's Lateral Exchange System makes interchanging any of the seven available lens colors quick and easy:

New Improvements Include:

  • New cam-hinge temples feature SmartTension engineering for enhanced retention and a more comfortable fit
  • New co-molded nosepiece and full-wrap temple sleeves feature advanced no-slip rubber that provides maximum slip resistance, even when moist
  • Redesigned strap attachment system provides more secure engagement of strap and frame
  • Now includes a zippered hard case and a micro-fiber pouch/cleaning cloth
  • Medium Fit

Frame: Black or Desert Tan
Lenses: Clear, Smoke Gray

CDI Kit Includes:
  • Black CDI frame
  • 2 sets of 2.2mm high-impact lenses (Clear and Smoke Gray)
  • Micro-fiber pouch/cleaning cloth
  • Zippered hard case

CDI Rx Inserts are also available.

* U.S. Mil Spec MIL-PRF-31013 (Clause 3.5.1.1), ANSI Z87.1-2010, CE EN 166 and U.S. Federal OSHA compliant (when not used in conjunction with Rx Inserts). All ESS lenses provide 100% UVA/UVB protection.

Important safety note for CDI Rx Insert users operating in proximity to fragmentation hazards:
ESS strongly recommends the use of high-impact polycarbonate prescription lenses to optimize impact resistance in the CDI sunglass. High-impact polycarbonate prescription lens material will maximize the impact resistance of the system well beyond that offered by CR-39 resin or other common materials used in prescription lens manufacturing.
